The process of creating and deleting a Google account on an Android phone

The first and most obvious reason for creating a second profile in Chrome is to share your computer with someone else. It can be your wife, child or mother. Separate accounts in this case will isolate personal data and save you from search ads targeted to another user.

However, it’s important to remember that each Chrome user can easily go to the profile of another. No passwords are requested during the transition.

Using a browser on one device is only with someone you trust.

Also, two accounts in Chrome may well be needed by one person who wants to share work and personal profile data.

If the other person uses your browser infrequently, then a simple guest mode is suitable, in which the history of visits is not saved. It is activated in the profiles drop-down menu.

Adding a second profile

  1. In the Chrome browser, in the upper right corner of the window, click the button with your name.
  2. Select "Manage Users" and then click "Add User".
  3. Type a name, select an image, and click Add.

In the window that opens, you can enter your new Chrome profile using your Google Account. However, this is not necessary: you can use the browser without authorization.

When you create a second profile on the desktop, a shortcut for Chrome automatically appears, allowing you to immediately go to your account. For each user, you can create your own shortcut, which is very convenient.

Login to your profile

Since shortcuts are created for each profile, which differ in icons, you can log in to your Chrome account with their help.

If the browser is already open and you want to get to another profile, in the upper right corner of the window, click on the button with the name and select the one you need. A new Chrome window will open specifically for you.

Delete profile

  1. In the Chrome browser, in the upper right corner of the window, click the button with your name.
  2. Select Manage Users.
  3. In the window that opens, hover over the account you want to delete and click on the ellipsis in the corner.
  4. Select "Delete User" and confirm the action.

If you delete a profile from Chrome, all data associated with it will also be deleted from the computer.

How to use multiple profiles on smartphones and tablets

On iPhone and iPad, Chrome browser can only be used with one account. On Android gadgets, you can’t add a second profile in the browser either, but in case of urgent need you can add a user in the settings of the device itself.

To do this, go to "Settings" → "Users and Accounts". Then select “Users” → “Add Account”. The new user will be able to work with the browser and configure it as he sees fit.

Create a Google Account

You can create it in several ways, namely register through the company’s website or through the built-in Google application on your Android smartphone.

Registering a profile is a simple process. You just need to have at least a weak Internet, come up with a username and password and that's it. In addition, specify a couple of data on age, position, gender, and so on.

Registration is completely free, but you must specify a phone number for it. After registration, an SMS confirmation will come to the specified number, so you need to enter your mobile. Yes, and within the framework of security, it is better to enter your current number, since if you lose access to the profile, you can easily restore it on the site using a mobile number previously linked to the profile.

If you want to register on the company’s website, go to and on the top page click “Login”, then you need to open the “Other” window and select “Register account” there. A registration form will appear.

To create a profile on an Android mobile device, follow these steps:

  1. Open your smartphone’s settings. This can be done by clicking on the corresponding gear in the notification curtain or by launching the system settings shortcut in the smartphone launcher.
  2. In the settings, find and open the "Users and Accounts" item. If you have an older version of the Android operating system, then this item will not be, and its contents will be on the main settings screen, so skip this item. For owners of Android 8.0 Oreo and newer versions, you need to open "Users and Accounts".

In “Users and Accounts” or on the main settings page, depending on the version of Android, find the plus sign and the “Add Account” line.

You will see a list of profiles that can be tied to a smartphone. To create a profile, select "Google".

Now we get directly to the profile creation menu. The first page requires a first and last name. It is optional, but desirable, to provide real data, since if necessary this data can be useful when restoring access to the profile.

The given name and surname will be displayed in the data about you on the Google+ page, when displaying the Google Games profile and in some other services. For other services, the given name and surname do not apply in any way. Do not confuse them with the user's nickname. But you can still specify them in the form of a nickname, then everywhere you will be signed that way.

If you provide real data, then it will be possible to set a special nickname for the YouTube, Google Games, Play Market`a (or Google Play) profile, and so on, as some services allow you to set a nickname independent of the name and surname in the profile. One of the most important parts during registration is creating a mailbox or login for authorization. In this paragraph, we need to come up with the beginning of our mailbox, which will have a note in the form of @ at the end - this means that this profile is a Google account.

We will need to use the mailbox every time you log in, so it is worth remembering it. You need to inform him only if you need to receive an email from someone, but in other services besides Gmail, this address will not slip. It is needed only for mail and for authorization (i.e. logging in).

For the name of the mail, you can write anything within the rules, namely: only Latin characters, no foreign characters, periods, dashes and other popular characters. The use of commas, question marks, exclamation marks, Cyrillic letters, Russian-language characters are not allowed.

It is also worth noting that this address will be unique, that is, you cannot create an address that someone has already created. Therefore, think carefully about this address, you can use numbers, various additions and other symbols to create uniqueness.

After that, the system will ask you to specify some more personal data, such as birthday, gender, age, additional mail from other servers and so on. It is also necessary to link the mobile number to the account. But if anything, then this number can be tied to another profile at any time or completely untied from everyone.

Removal procedure

To delete a profile, follow these steps on your Android smartphone:

  1. Open the settings.
  2. In the settings, find and open the "Users and Accounts" item. If you have an older version of the Android operating system, then this item will not be, and its contents will be on the main settings screen, so skip this item. For owners of Android 8.0 Oreo and newer versions, you need to open "Users and Accounts".
  3. Now open the line with your Google account already added.

In the editing menu, click the "Delete account" button.

That's it, now this profile is not tied to your device.

Please note that in this way you do not delete the account as a whole, but only untie it from the smartphone. It will continue to exist, and even more so, it will contain all the data that you managed to download and synchronize with your account. Later, you can even tie it back to the smartphone.

To delete a profile, go to and in the settings delete it.

Why do I need a profile tied to a smartphone?

An account tied to an Android smartphone is needed to fully work with the gadget. Without it, the user will not be able to visit the official application store, synchronize data on the smartphone with the cloud, save contacts, add more information to the contact, not just the name and number, and so on.

A Google account on an Android smartphone has already become part of the system, and without it, the OS will be inferior. In particular, all official applications already installed on the smartphone, one way or another, require a Google account. For example, the Play Market (or Google Play) will not work at all until you connect the profile.

Also, the contacts application will not work fully, you will not be able to add images to contacts and other information by type of place of work, position, date of birth, and so on.

A Google account massively synchronizes your data, which makes using your smartphone much more convenient. By synchronization is meant the creation of all your data during the operation of the smartphone.

Thus, having created and connected a Google profile, it will be possible to view all your contacts on the Google website by entering your personal account. When reinstalling applications and games, their settings, and your achievements in them will be saved. All this gives this service.
