It all depends on what exactly you want from the photo editor. I also have recently Windows 8, and I really liked the program PhotoScape (also works on other systems). It has a fairly large set of features. Here you can give photos a certain style, make them brighter, lighter, more saturated and much, much more.

Also in this editor you can make collages from photos, process multiple photos at once.

Change image for Windows 8.1 account

  1. Quickly move your finger from the right edge to the center of the screen, press the panel Settings, and then click the Change computer settings button. (If you are using a mouse, select the lower right corner of the screen, move the mouse pointer up, select the Settings panel, and then select Change computer settings).
  2. Press the Account button, and then press the key or select Your account.
  3. Select one of the following options:
    • Find your favorite photos. If you need to find an image, click the Browse button. You can browse to photos on your computer or images stored on OneDrive. Click on a photo to select it, and then click Select image.
    • Create or edit an image using the program. If you want to use the application to create, search and edit photos, press the key or select the application, and then follow the instructions on the screen to find new photos. There you will find a list of all applications installed on your computer that allow you to modify and create images.
    • Take a picture or record a video. If you want to take a picture or record a video, click Camera. Then take a picture or switch to video mode to record video.

Change background

  1. Open the screen, quickly swipe your finger from the right side of the screen and click the Boot screen button. (If you are using a mouse, select the bottom left corner of the screen, move the mouse cursor to the corner, and then click Loading screen).
  2. Quickly move your finger from the right edge to the center of the screen, and then click the Settings panel. (If you are using a mouse, select the bottom right corner of the screen, move the mouse pointer up, and then select the Settings panel).
  3. Click the Personalize button, and then click the background, background color, and foreground color.

Display desktop background on screen

You can also use desktop background images as the background on the screen. The start screen will be updated automatically every time the desktop background changes.

(If you are using a mouse, select the lower right corner of the screen, move the mouse pointer up, and then select the Settings panel).
  3. Click the Personalize button, and then select a picture from desktop background.

Pin a program to the launch screen

On the loading screen, you can pin selected programs to have quick access to them and immediately see their updates.

  1. Open the screen, quickly swipe your finger from the right side of the screen and click the Boot screen button. (If you are using a mouse, select the lower left corner of the screen, move the mouse cursor to the corner, and then click the Boot screen button).
  2. Swipe up from the middle of the screen to open the program screen. (If you are using a mouse, click the down arrow button in the lower left corner).
  3. Browse to the application you want to pin and click or right-click on it to select it.
  4. Press or select command Pin to start screen.

Remove apps from the standby screen

Unpinning an application is something other than removing it from the download screen, but saving it in the search results and on the application screen, so you can use it if necessary.

  1. Open the screen, quickly swipe your finger from the right side of the screen and click the Boot screen button. (If you are using a mouse, select the bottom left corner of the screen, move the mouse cursor to the corner, and then click Loading screen).
  2. Press and hold or right-click the application you want to enlarge to select it.
  3. Press or select command Remove from standby screen.

Change the theme

Everything remains here, as in older versions of Windows. Right-click on the desktop and select "Personalization" from the menu.

A window will open in which you can select a theme, as well as make it more detailed design of Windows 8: desktop background, color, sounds and screen saver.

Home screen design

The biggest changes in the design of Windows 8 appeared in the initial screen, which appears when you click on "Start". It can be flexibly configured, and I talked about this in detail in this article.

To change the background of the initial screen, move the mouse to the upper right or lower corner and select “Options”.

Then click “Personalize.”

You can select an image on the background in this block.

And change the background color and its theme in these two settings blocks.

And that is all. There is nothing more to change in the design of Windows 8. Thanks to the instructions described above, you can adjust the appearance of your computer to your needs.
